Solaris Seethes Review

Solaris Seethes (Solaris Saga Book 1)

By Janet McNulty

Every myth has a beginning.

Klanor has destroyed Rynah’s home planet, Lanyr, by stealing the crystal that controls the planet’s magnetic field. His plan is to find all six of the crystals, unite them to create a deadly weapon, and destroy the entire star system ...Enabling him to create his own empire!

With the help of the mysterious Solaris, Rynah gathers four unlikely heroes from a distant planet to fulfill the prophecy and attempt to save humanity.
Will they be able to find the crystals and stop Klanor before it’s too late?

Join them in their quest for the hidden crystals.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF SOLARIS SEETHES***

A crystal has been stolen, causing a world to collapse, killing its inhabitants. But Rynah survived by piloting away on Solaris, an antiquated spaceship. If the crystal is combined with the other five scattered crystals, they will become one very destructive weapon. Solaris has waited a long time for her part in saving the universe. But first, she must gather four others from the 13th sector to help in the quest of finding the crystals before the evil one does.

I liked the diversity of characters that were thrown together in the story. It made for a fascinating adventure. A spaceship with attitude was also an interesting facet. Rynah’s childish character though was annoying, but I could tell that her experiences had matured her by the ending. Of course, the way the story ends leaves me anxious for the next book in the saga.

Return of the Dittos Review

Return of the Dittos

By Dale Andrew White

The author of "Moe Howard Died For Our Sins" returns with another collection of hilarious short stories.

"Whether writing about the end of the world, terrorist swans, entering the afterlife or high school journalism, White entertains with clever asides, obvious (and some not-so-obvious) puns, and cultural and societal pokes. His stories combine satire, slapstick, innuendo, and outright silliness. All of it is punctuated with interesting, quirky characters." Seattle Post-Intelligencer

"White has a wonderful talent for engaging the unexpected, and his quick turns are wild and fun." Book Review.com.

"Some of his stories come across as being written in the classic style of Mark Twain and the British satirist Saki... Still others comes across with the raw, in-your-face humor worthy of Comedy Central." ReaderViews.com.

"A unique assortment of stories, each as entertaining as the last, 'Return of the Dittos' is a collection that short fiction lovers must get." Midwest Book Review

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF RETURN OF THE DITTOS***

This is a montage of stories that had me laughing from start to finish. This author is gifted in conveying his brand of slapstick humor. From the wild and wacky story of Christopher Columbus applying for a grant, to the disgusting nose fetish, nothing was too weird to be made fun of. I felt like all the stories had a vintage feel to them, and there was a definite tone of pulling for the underdog.

It was a very enjoyable read and it brought me back to my childhood memories of stories that my back-of-the-woods grandfather would tell many years ago. I could read this collection over and over without ever tiring of it.

Elements Book Review

Elements

By Solomon Deep

Embarking on a road trip to meet a famous television evangelist, Alan Levy drops out of college and explores the multifaceted diversity of American culture, attempting to make sense of the world around him. Elements is a novel that spans a year in the life of the ignorant and perpetually confused young man who tries to bring about changes in his world, but manages to learn only that the root causes of his alienation and loneliness are within himself. Elements explores the landscape of post-9/11 America through the eyes of this young man's experiential hopelessness and emptiness by pulling the audience along the escape Levy attempts to build for himself. Spanning one year and thousands of miles, the newly revised tenth anniversary edition of Solomon Deep's very first book remains the most prolific text delving into the stress, ignorance, and helplessness of post-9/11 Generation Y as they struggle to make sense of an America that seems to be teetering on the edge of senselessness. The Ten Year Anniversary Edition also includes a brand new introduction by the author.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF ELEMENTS***

Alan feels stagnated. He is tired of continuously arguing with his girlfriend, Jane, and putting up with his mother’s psychotic drug-induced ways. He decides to leave it all behind. He breaks up with Jane and heads out on a road trip to nowhere in particular. Never could he imagine the places he ends up at, or the people who enter his life.

This was an amazing journey of growth and spiritual enlightenment, and I felt like I was along for the ride. I liked the versatility of each character that Alan met. It was funny that he could see others as selfish brats, but not see himself as one. Although this had a one-year setting, to me it felt like so much longer. I enjoyed the way the story took full circle. I could tell that Alan was a totally different and wiser person after his experiences. I very much enjoyed the ride.

Available to buy from....

"Love love love love Teo!!! The chemistry between Amy and Teo was off the charts! Although I kinda dislike Amy at first she redeemed herself towards the end when she (spoiler deleted) that for me is one of the sweetest thing a girl can do for someone she says she doesn't care about. =) But Teo I LOVE HIM!!! Yeah he was a douche at times, but it goes with the territory being a billionaire's son, a hot racer but he treated Amy with respect so for me all is good. =) Highly recommended.”

"This book is my favorite romance story of the year."

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF ROARING HOT***

Teo Alexiou is at the top of his game in the Moto racing world. When his grandmother makes him promise to have a girlfriend by her next birthday, he makes a deal with Amy, an actress that he hires under false pretense. Amy thinks that she is playing a part in a reality show. Once the acting starts though, which one will be the first to break the rules and fall in love for real?

What a unique love story! With the lure of rich bad boy, and all-inclusive worldly travels, love couldn’t help but happen. I could tell from the start that Teo was more sensitive than he alluded to. I think this has become my favorite story so far from Ms. Ayala.
