Today I have taken on a challenge from Jennifer at Jennifer's Jumbles. This last weekend, her blog was phenomenal. Two and a half days of hourly posts. And what was the theme?
Organization
Well, since I returned from vacation almost two weeks ago, I have had this box of road trip brochures sitting on the corner of my desk.
What an eyesore. Not only that, it makes me hungry. So, for my organization project I decided to make a Road Trip Information Organizer. This will help clear off my desk area and also give me a chance to use up some of the cardboard I have been hoarding.
There are two sizes of brochures. The size that is double folded, and the full magazine size.
I am not giving exact sizes because I want you to use what you have. I used a cracker box first because it was just the right width as the small brochures. I measured it and cut it in half. For this cut, my large paper cutter was quick and easy.
I only needed one half. The other half will be saved for another project. I then measured and cut one side in half. Skip one side, then do the same for the next side. This way it is cut exactly in two. For these cuts, I had to use a box cutter. To protect the table, I inserted my clipboard between layers.
Glue the bottoms closed.
I then cut another piece of cardboard as a surround piece. This will help me to have something to glue it down to.
Til next time, have fun!
That's brilliant! A great way to store all those brochures! Thanks for entering the challenge, and for providing another brilliant organisational idea! x
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Jennifer. I so much enjoyed all your posts over the weekend. Can't wait for the next time!
DeleteI couldn't quite work out where you were headed with this one until I saw the final photo (I think some of the pics are missing in my view) but then I thought - aha! What a great idea to hold both sizes! I enjoyed the weekend too and got lots done as a result.
ReplyDeleteI know I didn't do a great job of the tutorial. This was my first and took all day trying to get the pics on here. I wanted to make sure I didn't run out of time getting it into the challenge.
DeleteWhat a great idea. You are so crafty. I wanted to let you know that I awarded you the Liebster Blog Award. You can find out about it here: http://mylifesatreasure.blogspot.com/2012/07/liebster-blog-award.html
ReplyDeleteWell thank you Karri. I'm honored. I'll come check it out.
