Swords of Gregara HONORA

Look at what I won!!

A book and a $5.00 Starbucks giftcard.  The item on the right is a replica of the book cover on a card.  How cool is that?  I won this in a giveaway at Deal Sharing Aunt.  Ms. Woolf, the author contacted me direct for my info.  I received the book within six days.  Can you believe that!  You can read more about her at CynthiaWoolf.com.

Allow me to reprint the storyline (taken from the back cover):
They stole her love, her life and want to steal the secrets secured in her mind.  Secrets that could topple world governments and decimate quadrant security forever.  Now she's on an epic quest to find out why and make those responsible pay.
Honora Reyestat gave up everything to become a member of the esteemed Gregarian Guard.  No family, no friends, no connections-nothing that can ever be used against her.  Captured and enslaved, she's become a prized gladiator for her master.  Given the task of training a new slave, she recognizes a fellow Zolthor and the son of a tribal leader at that.  Her mission changes from discovery of the enemy's tactics and secrets to returning Joridan to his people.
Drawn to this fierce woman as no other, Joridan Dolana tries to explain she is wrong.  He's not Zolthor, he's Centauri.  He was raised on Centauri with his sister.  Faced with proof of a father's ultimate betrayal, he must choose between revenge and the protection of this woman who has sworn to never return his love.
The book is 309 pages, and large print (love that).

Look, she even signed the inside for me.  It says Enjoy the story!  Cynthia Woolf.

And on the card, she wrote Enjoy a cup on me.  Cynthia Woolf.

Gosh, I feel so special!  I can't wait to start reading the book.

Here are some of the series'  Ms. Woolf has published.

Tame Series

I love all the covers.  You can find links to these books, plus some of her others at http://cynthiawoolf.com/books.php

Handy Tip #1

Are you one of those people who dump leftover food in the trash?  Or don't have anything to put your hamburger grease in to throw away?  I figured there had to be a better way.  There is, and it's so easy.

Everyone has bread and sugar, right?

Take an empty bread bag and insert it into the empty sugar bag.  The sugar bag will stand upright easily.

Bring the top of the bread bag down around the sugar bag.  It is now ready to start filling.  Instead of putting food in the trash, dump it here.  Trashy grease can also be put in this because it will not leak.  Just be sure to double check for holes before filling though.  Just keep adding until it's full.

I just roll the top closed and keep it in the refrigerator until I have filled it, or until I am ready to put the trash out.

When ready to close for good, twist the bread bag good and tight.  Then use the bread twister tie to close it.

Now roll it down below the top of the sugar bag.

Roll the top of the sugar bag closed and throw into the trash.

No more smelly, messy trash.  You're welcome!

Handy Dandy Survival Equipment

I am into the survivalist thing.  I think everyone should be, at least at a bare minimum. That is where I am at the moment...at a bare minimum.  Every grocery shopping, I buy a couple of extra cans and put them in the "stash" closet.  The only problem is that I dig them out before the month is up.  Not all, but enough to have to replenish along with the "unstashed" cans.  But I'm slowly getting there.

I wanted to show you the treasure I found yesterday.

A can of grapes.  Whoever thunk it!!!  You can bet this will be stashed.

I found this on the dollar isle at my local convenience/general store.  Can you believe it, one dollar?

And that's not all!

It has a pop top underneath that plastic lid.  I love the convenience of pop tops.

But wait.....there's more!

What is this inside the plastic lid?

A spoon!  More convenience.  Gotta love it.

I know these grapes aren't gonna last very long in the stash.  I love grapes too much.  But I got to thinking.  This spoon lid (my new name for it) would be very handy if it were on other canned goods.  Instead of throwing it away after finishing off my grapes, what if I washed it and stored it on other stashed cans.  I found out that it fits other sizes too.

Soup

Tomato Sauce

Even if you don't stash, this would be good for convenience times, like lunches or picnics.  I'm sure you can think of other uses.

Now admit it, you're excited too, aren't you?  What have you done lately for your survival?  Leave a comment.  I would love to hear about it.
