Preordained is a supernatural mystery thriller about a cop in Murrell’s Inlet, SC who’s seeking to solve a serial murder case that has biblical undertones.

Operating under his self-appointed moniker, the Star of David Killer taunts lead detective Art Somers, the Georgetown County Sherriff’s Office, and the FBI, who are all attempting to solve the serial case. In the killer’s mind, his father preordained the abductions and murders. They are his way of fulfilling prophecy.

Detective Art Somers has never given much credence to the local superstitious or religious beliefs in his county, but while working to solve the case, he starts to have paranormal visions that compel him to question his own sanity. It’s as if something or someone in the spirit world is attempting to communicate with him.

His partner and love interest, detective Angela Hunter, sees things differently. She believes deeply in the supernatural, just like many in their county. As unexplained paranormal events and missing timeframes invade Art’s life, Angela helps him deal with the unthinkable reality that the serial killer they’re looking for could be Art himself.

MY REVIEW

Someone is killing young 12 year old boys in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Detective Art Sommers’ son Ben could be next, so Art is taking precautions to protect him. This serial killer is meticulous with his crime scenes. With no evidence, there’s no trail to follow. The FBI is no help either. Art seems to find more leads than they do. When Art starts having visions of unexplainable events, he wonders if he is going crazy. He never believed in the superstitious mumbo jumbo that so many in that area did, but for some reason, something or someone is trying to communicate with him.

This was the classic good vs evil story. I could feel the stress and anxiety that Art was going through, and it had me on pins and needles waiting to see how it turned out. I liked the main character of Art, but not many others, as I was suspicious from the beginning. That’s what made this story so interesting to me, not being able to figure the true killer out, or what will happen next. This version of biblical prophecy was a believable rendition of how it could happen. I like this author’s writing style and hope to read more from him.

Ralphy the Rabbit: Finds Himself

Ralphy goes on a journey where he discovers what he thought was a flaw in himself is actually something unique that makes him special.

Poor Ralphy the Rabbit always felt he was different. He hated his ears and couldn’t hop as fast as the other baby rabbits in the pet store. None of the kids ever selected him. One day, a curly-haired girl named Marta locked gazes with him and they knew they were meant for each other.

Fun times lay ahead for Ralphy in his new home, hopping on the family furniture and getting carrot cake treats from Marta. But the good times are interrupted when Momma Sarah brings home an injured cat named Oscar. All of Marta’s attention now turns to helping Oscar recover.

Then Ralphy and Goldie the Fish discover that Oscar faked his injury to get into their home. They watch Oscar swing on the living room curtains. Oscar teases Ralphy about his ears and teeth, and threatens to eat Goldie.

Ralphy wants his friend Marta back. He doesn’t like being locked in his cage. One day on TV, a rabbit in a hat catches his attention. He watches Marvin the Magician turn a rabbit into a little girl. That’s it. Ralphy wants to be human. It will fix everything. His ears would look normal. He could tell Marta the truth about Oscar. He would be her favorite again.

The problem? Marvin the Magician lives in the flea market that’s far away.

Join Ralphy and Oscar on an entertaining journey to reach Marvin the Magician that teaches them about creativity, friendship, acceptance, and above all, about feeling better about themselves.

MY REVIEW

Ralphy was one of a kind. Being a rabbit, he should have long, straight ears that stood up, but his were crooked and drooped like dog ears. At the pet store, no one wanted to adopt him, until he met Marta. She took him home with her and everything was great for a while. That is, until Oscar the cat appeared on the scene. Oscar was pretending to have been hurt by a car. Marta started playing more with Oscar and leaving Ralphy in his cage. That was bad enough, but Oscar was such a meany that Ralphy knew he had to find a way to let Marta know what a phony Oscar was.

I can see this book being read as a bedtime story. It was such a cute little story, and I can see more adventures being created with these characters. I applaud the author for making the story have positive aspects to the situations as they occurred. It was a good plot with characters that worked. Even the family was a good fit. I would definitely buy more books from this author, if they were stories about these characters. Their continuing adventures would make for an excellent bedtime story library.
