MY REVIEW

When Madison’s brother Brad is arrested for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Patti, Madison vows to do everything she can to clear his name. But will it be enough? Now with psycho Patti dead, that’s one nuisance gone for Brad, but what Madison uncovers will change his life forever.

When I read the title, my first thought was, how can things get any more psycho than they already have? Plenty more, it seems. All the usual characters make their appearances, along with the usual drama and catastrophes that follow. It’s a wild ride in the Florida Keys so you better hold on for dear life. But, you’ll no doubt enjoy it to the end! I always do.

I've been writing, in one way or another for as long as I can remember; poetry, sappy short stories (my best friend made me swear that I’d never show anyone until I changed the names), and a romance novel shoved under my bed.

I wanted to create books with a wide-range of unforgettable characters, with heat and romance, and lots of guns. It wouldn’t be complete without a slice of humor and charm.

Disclaimer Here - I am a Deborah Brown Junkie and this woman can never write quick enough for me. From the very first book when I was introduced to Madison after she learned of her inheritance from her aunt, to this newest installment of the series, I have been waiting with bated breath for the next one to come and take me away to my home away from home in the Florida Keys.

Madison and Fab have always managed to get themselves involved in some sort of mystery. I love the way their boyfriends are never happy with their involvement but always help them out if they really need it. I do love that this book like the others is infused with wacky humor that only adds to the story and doesn’t just fall flat or come across as the author trying to distract you from the real storyline. Madison and Fabiana and their relationships with Creole and Didier respectively show how a dual friendship can take on an​ us v. them mentality but never crosses the line and always ends up in a good place.

Deborah also has the ability to send you on a journey throughout the books where you know the main mystery (in this case the blown up boat) but you also have so many other smaller storylines. You have the ever-present regulars who live in The Cottages and you get to learn about her brother Brad’s business venture and all of the complications there are with his girlfriend and also his business partner too.

All in all, this is another home run for my girl Deborah, and I am now going to go back to sitting here watching the clock while I wait on the next installment impatiently!

MY REVIEW

Zach Lazarro left the Florida Keys to start a new life in Zuma Beach on the west coast. He started a private investigation business alongside his two navy SEAL buddies, Slice and Cable. As the business starts getting successful, they accept a case from billionaire banker Frank Werner. He wanted proof that his wife, Kimberly, was having an affair. During a stakeout though, Zach gets knocked out and that’s when things take a turn for the worse. Kimberly is murdered, leaving Zach and company as suspects.

This is a great start to this spinoff of Deborah Brown’s Paradise series. I can see loads of adventures for this team of former navy seals. Slice and Cable, I’m sure there’s a story behind those names. There was great chemistry between Zach and his girlfriend Avalon, as well as his team of coworkers. I’m ready and waiting for the next mystery for Zuma SEALS.

I've been writing, in one way or another for as long as I can remember; writing poetry, short stories, a romance novel secretly stashed under the bed and sappy love letters. Fiction should be fun. I wanted to create the perfect beach book, to make the reader laugh, cry and cheer... and then run out and tell their friends about it.

My love of reading began when I was seven, the day I opened the cover of my first Mrs. Piggle Wiggle book. Mrs. P gave lessons to other children in how to behave and to me I learned to love the written word. I live with my family and demon children aka rescue cats in South Florida.
