MY REVIEW

The Moonglow series is always so heartwarming. I love the feelings it brings to me every time. There’s no way anyone could be a Grinch after reading about the Timberton hotel and its magical inhabitants. Each year there are return guests as well as new ones, and in the end, they all leave as friends and family. I would love to be a part of it all.

If you haven’t read this series, you are missing out. It will get you in the Christmas mood faster than anything else. Oh, and did I mention that it has cookie recipes? Yum, yum!

Mistletoe at Moonglow, The Moonglow Christmas Series, Book 1

The Timberton Hotel has always provided a perfect Christmas retreat for regular guests, as well as newcomers. But the small town of Timberton, Montana, hasn't been the same since resident chef and artist, Mist, arrived, bringing a unique new age flavor to the old western town.

When guests check in for the holidays, they bring along worries, fears and broken hearts, unaware that Mist has a way of working magic in people's lives. Old-fashioned time spent together, exquisite food, conversation and a snowball or two offer guests a chance to trade sadness for hope. One thing is certain: no matter how cold winter's grip is on each guest, no one leaves Timberton without a warmer heart.

Silver Bells at Moonglow, The Moonglow Christmas Series, Book 2

Christmas at the Timberton Hotel arrives each year with a unique set of guests, some returning, some new. When this holiday brings a celebrity seeking reprieve, sisters who are distant yet closer to each other than they think, a widow approaching a new horizon, and an eclectic smattering of local townsfolk and visiting relatives, the season is certain to be eventful. Add in a hint of romance and there's more than snow in the air around the small Montana town.

Elegant decor and exquisite cuisine from resident artist and chef, Mist, form a backdrop to much needed camaraderie, bringing strangers and friends together. When the last note of Christmas carols has faded away, the soft whisper of silver bells from the front door's wreath will usher guests and townsfolk alike back into the world with hope for the coming year.

Gingerbread at Moonglow, The Moonglow Christmas Series, Book 3

The small town of Timberton, Montana, boasts an ambiance of near-magical proportions during the Christmas season, due in no small part to resident artist and chef Mist's mysterious way of working small miracles in people's everyday lives. Each year, return guests and new arrivals mingle with local townsfolk to enjoy companionship, exquisite decor, and exceptional cuisine at The Timberton Hotel.

As the aromas of ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and molasses mix with heartfelt camaraderie and sweet romance, guests share reflections on family, friendship, and life. Although decorating the outside of a gingerbread house may prove easier than deciding what goes inside, no one leaves Timberton without renewed hope for the future.

Guest book review by Carly Louise Wilson
‘Yuletide At Moonglow’ is the sixth book in Moonglow Christmas read series by Deborah Garner, and it made for a good lighthearted Christmas tale.

The book is about the Timberton Hotel, and the preparations and buildup to the annual Christmas festivities. If you are familiar with the series, you will be keen to learn of the annual snowman competition, the Santa Claus out in the commons, and learn more of the owner Mist.

Mist owns the hotel by day and paints cute pictures for all her guests in the side. She basks in the traditions, ensuring that this year two sittings within the hotels Moonglow cafe go without a hitch. I love Mist’s caring nature, and each guest to the hotel comes with their own story to tell, personalities and add their own bit of excitement into the event.

The cute moments between Mist and her boyfriend Michael are touching and I loved how everyone made time for Selena the little girl turns Christmas Elf.

If you are looking for a book to add a bit of sprinkle to your life and get you into the festive mood, then Yuletide at Christmas is the book for you.

A great read with some cute festive recipes for readers to enjoy. I would recommend to all fiction lovers, and those wanting to snuggle up with a book.

"Deborah Garner is gifted at bringing each character to life. She adds details seamlessly, making it seem like you know these people. She presents scenarios that have you thinking you know who did it, and then in the next sentence you are second guessing yourself. And that is to say, this is a great “who done it” … it gets 2 thumbs up from me :)"

"I loved the quirky charm of Sadie, for she is loveable, -nosey in a fun way- and has the ability of building a rapport with all the weird and wonderful characters on the resort. She is has a knack of finding clues as she goes about her day to day business."

"Deborah Garner is a wonderful, fun author who can deliver a story that you will want to read to the end and the characters are witty, entertaining and a lot of fun."

MY REVIEW

Sadie has volunteered to help a client with her yearly Spooktacular event for charity. However, the event becomes overshadowed when the client gets murdered. Sadie is intrigued in finding the murderer, but it won’t be easy weeding out the suspects.

I always love these Sadie Kramer stories. She has a knack for being at the right place at the right time to uncover clues and make suspects uncomfortable. I loved the idea of this being about a ghost, or goblin. I just wish the story had delved a little more into that aspect. No matter, it was a great story with great characters.

All four Tremiato siblings have possible motives, as well as a few peripheral acquaintances, but only one could be the guilty party. As Sadie juggles truffles, tips and turmoil, she’ll need to sort the grapes from the wrath in order to find the identity of the killer.
