MY REVIEW

This is the fourth book that I have read by this author. Each of them was about humor, or motivation using humor as a tool. This one was along the same line. It had humor at its core, the same as all the others, the only difference was that this book was closer to teaching you to see and use humor daily in everything you do. The health benefits you gain from humor is just one of the reasons for keeping or adding it to your life. There are so many more as I’m sure you’re aware of.

I love to laugh as much as the next person. Sometimes humor comes easy for me, but other times it doesn’t. I like how the author gives strategies and guidelines to help get past those times. I enjoyed the metaphors used throughout the book to describe the different aspects of humor. The exercises Mr. Ryzman suggests really do help the mind to think in terms of laughter. I’ve tried a few just to bring a spark of humor to conversations with success. That being said, I think anyone who reads this book will take away strategies that will help them in their daily lives and conversations.

MY REVIEW

This book was written by an author skilled in motivational speaking. In fact, I felt like I was in the audience listening to one of his speeches as I read it. The use of powerful working and imaging draws you in to what is being expounded, I felt immensely motivated throughout the entire read. And that’s saying a lot since I am basically an unsocial couch potato. I felt nothing but a positive energy flow. It’s easily understandable how much negative energy can keep you down. But I was shocked to learn how much negatives are hidden in our daily thinking.

Mr. Ryzman introduces the Dynamic Emotion program which is basically putting your emotion in overdrive in order to do what you must do to get what you want. He further explains how your emotions, whatever they are, can trigger chain effects, and that is why you should keep your emotions on a positive keel. The book lists ten suggested ways to repel any negative thoughts you may have. There were many examples of people who have overcome insurmountable obstacles in their lives even though they were severely handicapped. Some were so miraculous that it gave me goosebumps. I am so glad that I read this book. It was more than inspiring.

All You Need Is Life Review

All You Need Is Life: A lighter look at life with a sprinkling of wisdom

By Leonard Ryzman

All You Need Is Life: A lighter look at life with a sprinkling of wisdom by [Leonard Ryzman]
Is life a rendezvous with destiny or a blind date with fate?

ALL YOU NEED IS LIFE is a Beatles-eye view of life, the world and everything. Every day you wake up is a cause to celebrate, and this book will lead you there with its lighter view of life plus a sprinkling of wisdom. Each chapter looks at another aspect of life. The author's experiences and commentaries range from meeting Queen Elizabeth, horse riding, the health care system and television;  to astrology, concepts of time, dining out and more.

The themes are inspired by Beatle song titles.

Sit back with this short , satirical read and take a look at some of life's incongruities, with a good dose of laughs in between.

MY REVIEW

All you need is life is a collection of quips and quotes from an author who is well known for his humorous writings printed in newspapers and magazines. His musings shine with an inner levity that is rare these days. In this book, you find that nothing is sacred and everything can be viewed as positive or negative, depending on the way it is viewed. Mr. Ryzman has a way with making the reader see things from both perspectives. And some of his wit and wisdom will have you pondering on it long after reading it.

I don’t know about you but I love reading books like this. The humor flowed endlessly. I can definitely see the author as a motivational speaker. There’s no doubt that he is a Beatle fan as it shows by his inclusion in this book. In fact, one chapter was made up of Beatle song titles or lyrics. I didn’t enjoy that one so much, as it mainly just sounded like ramblings to me. But I did enjoy the chapter on his conversation with the Queen. I liked how he could easily turn it into something that was totally different than the actual happening, but not be lying at all. Genius!

MY REVIEW

The Laugh Supper is a tale involving a group of famous people from our past, time traveling to the author’s home and having eclectic discussions about whatever subject is broached. Groucho Marx, Mae West, Abraham Lincoln, Leonardo da Vinci, Ralph Waldo Emerson, John F. Kennedy, Dorothy Parker, Dr. Martin Luther King, and John Lennon were the time travelers. Even though each of these needed no introduction, the author included their history before beginning the story. The topics varied anywhere from weight loss to the internet. As one of the chapter titles insinuated, it was a war of words and a battle of the exes.

I thought that this was an interesting take on how each of these people would fair in a type of debate with one another. When the topic would change to something they were known for, it was like learning history again because there were some things I didn’t know about them, da Vinci especially. Everyone had snappy comebacks, giving me continuous humor cover to cover. There were a couple of times that the discussion was boring to me, making it seem to last forever, but all in all, I enjoyed all of the camaraderie and jest that was provided during this unusual gathering.
