Late For Fate Tour and Giveaway

D.C. paralegal Jezebel Stone's tardiness often gets her in trouble, but this time it leads to meeting her dream man. Her choice of metro seats places her on track for finding love again. But when their ride ends in a fiery crash, their separation sends her on a mission of reuniting with him and finishing their fateful trip.

But instead, it entangles Jezebel in the twisted lives of those determined to destroy each other. This prickly path also holds the potential of leading Jezebel to an unlikely place of joy. Finding joy seems impossible when life is literally exploding all around her.

LATE FOR FATE won Best First Chapter from WRITERS' TYPE

"Jones is a gifted author with a talent for sharp, fast-paced prose that keeps the pages turning. Late for Fate moves at a thrilling pace. It's studded with sharp-edged, witty dialogue and quirky characters that stuck with me long after reading. Jones' knack for creating stories that feel familiar but are unique in voice and plot make every read (including Late for Fate!) a great one.
~Kathleen Shoop, best-selling author of the Letter Series and After the Fog

"Ms. Jones has perfectly captured how one moment in time can change a life for both good and bad. Excellent story with well written characters and a terrific (sometimes terrifying) theme. A great read. Highly recommended." - Amazon Review

"Lori has shown an extremely deft touch. I enjoyed the entire reading experience in second attempt at authoring. I enjoyed the characters, the quick pacing, the brushes with fate, the witty banter and the slick manner in which Lori handles the alternating points of view."
-  James J. Robinson,Jr.

"Scene-stealing Nicole had me laughing out loud. From the opener, I was hooked."
-  Carolyn Menke

MY REVIEW OF Late for Fate

Jezebel loved her job as a paralegal. She liked to work on her cases while riding the metro train to work. One day she met Kirk and they shared a connection, but the train crashes before they can learn much about each other. Two weeks later, Kirk calls Jezebel and they start seeing each other. Even though there are red flags galore, Jezebel ignores them and falls in love with Kirk, and soon discovers the train wreck her life has become.

There was so much deceit going on that it made my head spin. I could relate to the klutzy side of Jezebel. She couldn’t help but be a train wreck, even before Kirk entered her life. I think my favorite character was Jezebel’s mother. She was so laid-back and gave a good balance to the rest of the characters.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF RENAISSANCE***

After 15 years of marriage, Amanda’s husband Derrick asks for a divorce and moves out. Amanda figures the only explanation is another woman. When he calls a week later to meet, she is told, to her horror, that it is not another woman, but another man. Derrick is finally being true to himself. Since they have a daughter to think about, Amanda tries to make it an amiable separation while waiting on the divorce to finalize. But Derrick just won’t let up on the verbal abuse that Amanda has withstood for so long. Then as fate would have it, into her life walks famous NFL quarterback Bradley Erickson, who is very much interested in her. Will Amanda be able to get past the twelve-year age difference and her low self-esteem to find true happiness?  Only time will tell.

Amanda was such an over-analyzer, but she couldn’t help but be, with all the years of put-downs from her husband. It’s very difficult to come away from that unscathed. Being older than her, I can very much understand the insecurities she felt with her body and public judgments. I have to say though, if I was Amanda I would have shut out the voices in my head, thrown caution to the wind, and enjoyed the relationship with Eric with no regrets. I mean, how much better can it get?
