MY REVIEW

Beau Bear and his friend Wheelburro journey to the land of the Great Red Forest. Beau Bear wanted to see the land that his grandfather Red Bear had lived on. But he also needed to find out why it was now barren and cold. During Red Bear’s life in the Great Red Forest, it was a fertile, green land. But something changed it many years ago. As they travel across the land, they make friends with a few different species of animals who give them bits of information to keep them on the right trail. But along the trail, they also have to contend with three vultures who are up to no good.

This was a quick, fun children’s story. I like that the characters were lovable animals with positive personalities. There were several lessons to be learned from the characters, such as Beau Bear and Wheelburro freely sharing their fire. They were true friends. I admired how Beau Bear wanted to experience how his grandfather lived. This is a trait that children are uninterested in these days, and that’s a shame. I’m glad the book highlighted that. And the motto ‘love conquers all’ was a good theme for the book. I believe kids of all ages would enjoy this read.

MY HONEST REVIEW OF Fibles 3

This is the third installment of the Fibles stories. Again, it uses a play on words for the characters involved in each story. I liked each of the outlandish activities that the characters were involved in and I believe any child would love the stories. I can see them repeating the names and even reusing the names in various ways. The subtle lessons that each story tells gives teaching opportunities for the parent or storyteller. I especially liked the last story, as it recycled some characters, and reminded me of another great, well-known story of biblical proportions.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF FIBLES***

This is a nice collection of adventure stories written for children. Each story has a plot where the character learns a lesson, which in turn is teaching the child a lesson also. The characters in the stories have quirky names like Fraidy the cat, Erlee the bird, and so on. I thought the various illustrations were spot on. As an adult, I would love to read these to my grandchildren as bedtime stories. I know they would love them. I could see these stories becoming a beloved series of television cartoons.
