Raging Falcon by Stephen Perkins

RAGING FALCON

By Stephen Perkins

RAGING FALCON by [PERKINS, STEPHEN]
DEADLIER THAN BULLETS.
MORE DESTRUCTIVE THAN BOMBS.
MORE FRIGHTENING THAN A TERROR ATTACK.
And one man-sorcerer disguised as solder-will forever altar American history with BLACK MAGIC!
In the 21st century wars are won in the mind rather than on battlefields. Major Stacey Truman Keogh, a specialist in psychological operations, is both ambitious and evil, a terrorist with esoteric magical powers disguised in military uniform, willing to sacrifice anything-his family, his only son, even the operatives under his command-to not only script American history, but to gain proxy control of the US government. In the end, will he use his magical powers in the service of good, to gain some measure of redemption-can a miracle save the only son he ruthlessly betrayed, so long ago?

MY REVIEW

Old Jim Keogh had been in the New Salem Regional ‘Enrichment’ Center for fifty years for a murder he didn’t commit. As the Regional Global Unity Council, specifically Chairman Woodall, pushed to have old Jim placed on the “unsustainable list”, Warden Averill Howard feverishly worked to get Jim pardoned. Expecting him to be terminated that night, Jim’s guards, along with other prisoners who have befriended Jim through the years all sit with him, while Jim tells the full story of what happened those many years ago.

Much of the information in the pages of this book was so spot-on, that I got chills imagining what if it were all true. Based on actual events and people, it truly makes me wonder just how much could possibly be the truth. Sometimes I got lost in the information being given but it was so fascinating, I couldn’t stop reading, knowing the implications it insinuated. This story wove a web of lies, deceit, corruption, and greed, all for power and control. As the story shifts between the present and the past, it was the anticipation of finding out if old Jim would be executed or not that drove me forward. But the twist at the end was a total surprise. I did not see that coming.
