MY REVIEW

The Secret of Being Together is a compilation of various couples who have overcome difficulties in their own personal relationships with the help of the authors. Every relationship takes different journeys at different times and for different reasons. Their belief is on the importance of there being a dream in every journey. Milestones should also be acknowledged, and perception is everything. A couple should think of themselves as three personas, i.e. each other and the relationship itself. And this relationship should be a priority. This is vital to keeping the relationship on a healthy keel.

I thought it was fascinating reading the tribulations of each couple and following their journeys. Their troubles could all be classified in the same category, but each were unique to each couple. Most of the time I couldn’t wait to find out if they would overcome or go their separate ways, as it was never obvious of the direction that would be taken.  I agree that the past must be worked out before the present and future can be examined. Also I, too, believe in the power of imagination. I liked how the authors included the reader by asking not to be sole observers, but to also examine your own relationship with the facts presented. And the part about John and the Holy Book was worth the entire read.
