Welcome to the Mighty Moms Club

Our focus is how to ruin our children’s “using” career and find joy in our lives. If that sounds like something you want to be a part of, you’re in the right place, and I’m super glad that you’re here! Are you ready to change the way you respond to your loved one’s addiction problems? I hope so!

How do you feel when you think your daughter’s drug addiction is ruining her life?
Hopeless, right? How do you cope with this hopeless feeling? Maybe you don’t. You might think, this isn’t really living; I’m dying inside because of her using career.

What do you have to do to start living for yourself?

Follow me as I take you on the journey where you transform from a seed to a flower. From a mom whose only focus is on her child, to a mom whose focus is on herself.

Using this flower analogy, you will work through seven transformational steps to letting go: Commitment; Self-Awareness; Inner Dialogue; Creating the Plan; Implementing the Plan; Progress, Reflection, and Vision; Helping Others and Living a New Life.

Once you master this shift in focus, you will help your adult child see that change is possible and that hope is the best four-letter word in the dictionary. Children do what children see—no matter how old they are. Once you show your child what hope looks like, your child will see your joy and want what you have.

This book will show you ways to change. There is no magical bullet to help your son or daughter get well. But you can make a difference by your responses to your child’s actions. To do this, you must first start with yourself.

I will give you suggestions based on my journey, but it’s up to you to act on the information. If my suggestions make you uncomfortable or they don’t resonate with you, ponder them for a while. We are all on a different journey and recovery works differently for everyone.

Glow Girl Tour and Giveaway

Willow is just your average sixteen-year-old girl. Okay, maybe not so average. She can heal animals. But for her own safety, her veterinarian parents have made her promise not to use her powers. Unfortunately, sometimes her compassion takes over, and she can't help ... well ... helping.

Willow is a Droit, but hides her Droitism because people like her are feared and hated by those without special abilities. Two of Willow's schoolmates, rumored to be Droits, have simultaneously disappeared.

When Willow's non-Droit friend, Rain, is targeted, Willow wonders whether she should get involved--even if that means putting herself in the line of fire.

A mysterious new friend, Trae, just might be the key to unlock her courage.

In the end, she has a choice: she can deny who she is or declare her ability to heal, but either way, her life will never be the same again.

Available to buy from the following sites...

Read an excerpt
I saved our cat’s life four years ago when I was twelve.
How? I healed her. That was part of my Droit ability, but I
didn’t know it then.
Random, our cat who lived at our animal clinic, had been
sick for months, but my parents are veterinarians, so they were
managing her disease. She wasn’t in pain until the day I was
hanging out at the clinic and found her panting and writhing
while lying on her side.
Mom was in the surgical room setting a fracture and couldn’t
be interrupted. Dad was out picking up meds.
Random’s eyes fluttered and she let out a puny cry. I held
her, wishing I could help. When I stroked her fur around the
knobby tumors on her back, my fingertips tingled and glowed
red. I had no idea what was happening.
Confused, I flapped my hands as if to put out a fire. The
color faded, but as soon as I placed my fingers back on
Random’s side, the glowing started again. I shook my head in
bewilderment and then closed my eyes, allowing whatever this
was to happen. Lightning bolts flashed behind my eyelids. My
hands seemed to have minds of their own, this time locking onto
Random’s body. Pain shot up my fingers and seared all the way
to my neck.
My head felt heavy, like it was full of electric sparks. I
groaned and shuddered but still couldn’t pull my hands away
from her.
I don’t know how long I stayed that way before she purred,
and I opened my eyes to see her licking her paw as if nothing
had happened. I ran my fingers along her back. Her tumors had
disappeared.
The room spun. What had happened?
Random jumped down and darted away with more spring
than she’d had in months. I was certain I was seeing things. I
blinked, but there she sat near the sink, giving her face a bath.
My fingers slowly faded. I turned them palm up, then palm
down, studying them, trying to find a reason for what had
happened, but there was none.
Mom came into the room, holding her hands in the air on the
way to the faucet to scrub. “Were you looking for me?”
“Random doesn’t have cancer anymore,” I said, excitedly.
“Oh, really?” She paused with her hands under the water and
gave me a peculiar look with her head cocked, eyebrows raised.
“How’s that?”
“I healed her.” Nausea bubbled up from my gut. I raced into
the bathroom.
After I puked and returned to Mom, she was sitting in a chair
with Random in her lap, parting her hair. “Her tumors are gone.”
“I know.” Nausea still clung to my ribs, but it wasn’t as bad.
I was too excited about Random being better that it didn’t matter.
“What exactly did you do, Willow?”
Mom stared at me with wide eyes. I thought she’d be proud
of me, but she didn’t act that way.
“My hands mended her,” I said.
“L-l-like h-h-how?” she asked.
“I don’t know. It just happened. I felt sorry for her. She was in pain, and the next thing I knew, my hands lit up and energy
flowed from me to her.” I stared at my fingers again.
“Has this happened before?”
I shook my head.
“Good.” She nodded, licked her lips, and lowered her voice.
“Can you make it stop?”
I shrugged. I didn’t know. “I can try.”
“Don’t do it again, and whatever you do, don’t ever do it in
public.” Her voice was just above a whisper, and she glanced
over her shoulder at the door.
“Why?” Wasn’t it a good thing that Random was better?
Tears welled in my eyes.
“You won’t be safe if people know what you can do,” she
continued in a hushed tone. “Promise me you won’t do it again.”
Swallowing hard, I nodded. “I promise.” But I didn’t
understand.

MY REVIEW

Willow is different. She has the power to heal. But this is dangerous for her. There were others who thought it was unnatural and had possibly killed two missing teens from her school. Willow promised her parents that she would never heal any more but her compassionate personality proved that to be an impossibility.

This is by far my favorite book by Ms. Weidenbenner. Yes, she writes other genres, but this is closer to what I like and she did a great job. The characters were interesting and likeable. The plot flowed easily. I can’t wait for the next in this series.

Éclair Meets a Gypsy by Michelle Weidenbenner

Eclair Meets a Gypsy

By Michelle Weidenbenner

Eclair Meets a Gypsy by [Weidenbenner, Michelle]
Eccentric Grandma Stella is taking in boarders. Not the kind that talk, but the kind that neigh. Horses. When seven-year-old Éclair meets the first boarder and its owner, a girl Éclair’s age who’s dressed like a gypsy, the girl says her horse can read minds and will cast a spell on Éclair. Does the horse really have magic? If so, maybe the horse could make Éclair’s secret wish come true.

READERS FAVORITE 5 STARS*****

...........................................................................
MY REVIEW

Éclair and her sister are temporarily living with their grandmother, Stella, while their mother is away getting well. When Stella begins boarding horses, her first tenant is a horse named Gypsy, owned by Anselina, a girl Éclair’s age. Anselina warns Éclair that Gypsy is magical and can read minds. Éclair is skeptical, but when Gypsy proves it true, Éclair becomes hopeful that Gypsy can help to bring her mother home.

It’s so much fun learning things through Éclair’s eyes. She has such fun adventures. This would make a great bedtime story. It’s not too long, and since I liked it so well, I’m sure it would be beyond interesting for little ones.

MY REVIEW

All of the dogs are dying and no one knows why. Eleven year old Wily Coldren is worried his dog Sport will be next. Being a bit of a science geek, Wily builds an electrical box to try and shock the dogs back to life. When Sport suddenly dies, even though his black box still needs work, Wily has no choice but to use it on Sport. When it works, he knows he’s on the right track. But finding the cause of the pandemic is another matter altogether.

This was a cute young reader that had a dark undertone. Wily’s character was so misunderstood. I think most kids can relate to his character. Even though he was bullied, Wily still had a pure heart. It was obvious that the story carried a message to kids that they are not alone, and even if people don’t show it, they most likely have issues far worse than you.

AWARD WINNING and BESTSELLING Author

When seven-year-old Éclair goes geocaching for the first time, she finds a treasure that isn’t the one she imagined. Young readers will discover what geocaching is all about through Éclair's journey with her eccentric grandma.

Hi, I’m Éclair and I’m seven. My sister Meggie is two. When mom got sick we had to go live with Stella, my dad’s mom, the one with maroon colored hair. I begged Dad not to make us stay with her because she beat her horse and was going to eat her rooster, but he didn’t believe me. Even after I pretended I was going to barf, he left us with Stella.

So there we were, Meggie and me, on a strange pink farm with a skinny horse, a mean rooster, and Stinky Stella who had a living room filled with dead deer heads.

What would she do to us?

Would we end up on her wall too?

MY HONEST REVIEW OF Eclair goes Geocaching

Stella invites Éclair to go geocaching with her. She explains that it is hunting for a hidden treasure. Éclair misunderstands and believes that they will find gold, like a pirate’s treasure. She is very disappointed when they uncover the treasure in the cache. Stella has to explain to Éclair that the treasure is in the adventure.

This was a cute story, with hidden learning curves in it. I agree that the adventure is the true treasure. I have been geocaching before and enjoyed it immensely. I’m sure that this book can help draw children into the adventure of geocaching. It’s an experience they will remember.
