Helen
By J. Barfield
Helen is a story about a young lady who has her mind turned up side down when she discovers that her childhood imaginary friend was actually a real person.
Fighting to maintain her sanity she goes in search for answers and clues about who her imaginary friend really was but the more she finds out about her the more confused she becomes. And every time she thinks she's got it figured out something else comes along leaving her with even more questions.
Helen is Sci-Fi, mystery, comedy, slightly dramatic adventure ride inside of not only the main character's life and mind but everybody around her exploring how they interact and how they're all connected to each other in this strange, mysterious thing called life.

MY REVIEW OF Helen
When Jullisa
was younger, she had an imaginary friend named Helen. No one but Jullisa ever
saw her. Then during a busy holiday excursion at the mall, Jullisa loses sight
of Helen, never to see her again. Twenty years later, going through some old
drawings, Jullisa is reminded of her. When she later sees an obituary for
Helen, she investigates and finds out that Helen was a real, live person. And
things start getting weirder when she discovers that Helen once had an
imaginary friend called, what else, Jullisa.
Talk about
drama, this story had it. The premise that two people, unknown to each other,
was each other’s imaginary friend certainly made for an interesting read. The
characters were well-developed, with likeable personalities. The plot was just
spooky enough to make you wonder what if, and how that could happen. The more I
read, the more I wanted to read. I have to say though, that I did not
understand anything about the dream in the interview with the rock star, nor
why it was included in the story. It went too far off topic, and I was confused
as to why it was there. I think the story would have been better without it.
