MY REVIEW

If you are interested in researching ways to have passive income, look no further. This book is a treasure trove of information on ways to make money online. With social media so prolific these days, it makes sense that some of the easiest ways to make money is through the social media accounts you probably already use.

The book starts off instructing you to assess your skills, interests, and resources, to put you on the right track to doing something you like. I was interested in quite a few of the ways listed. Not only do the authors list the ways to make money, they also tell why they like or dislike it. And there were several that had multiple ways of earning, making them excellent choices. Now that I have read the book, I will be going back and researching several that caught my eye. This is a great reference book to have at your disposal.

Like everyone else in the world, Mia Bryn lives in the dark. Buried in an underground compound, her life is spent in brief allotments of florescent light and dwindling food supplies. But when a letter arrives, Mia and her father are invited to embark on a journey that no one else has been allowed to take for over a hundred years. They are asked to leave the ground and travel into the air. But the outside world is more surprising and dangerous than Mia could have ever imagined. To survive, she must trust her instincts, learn about a world she knows nothing about, and accept her destiny.

“Downing’s Into The Air is that fresh take on the YA post-apocalyptic vision we’ve all been waiting for. Mia Bryn is a wonderful character—one who starts out charmingly mortal but soon becomes the heroine we, and her people, need her to be. Can’t wait for the next Mia chapter!” Bruce McAllister, Author of the Cybils-nominated The Village Sang to the Sea: A Memoir of Magic “There’s a new star in the Young Adult firmament—A. K. Downing’s series, beginning with Into The Air, is sure to be a reader favorite right up there with The Hunger Games and The 100 trilogy.” Richard Snodgrass , Author of There’s Something in the Back Yard

WHAT IF YOU ENTERED A WORLD YOU DIDN'T KNOW

“Did you ever feel so lost that you didn’t know if the ground was above your head or below your feet?”

MY REVIEW

Mia has lived underground her entire life. The only time she has ever been above was ten years ago, and that was only long enough to jump to another compound. She remembers how it felt and would give anything to live in the air. When Marshall, her dad, gets a letter requesting he and Mia report to the new City Site, even though Marshall is hesitant, Mia sees this as her one and only chance to be free of living underground and she’s not going to let it pass her by. On their journey to the City Site, Mia is overwhelmed by sights, sounds, and smells she had never experienced before. Her adventure had begun. But upon reaching the site, Mia discovers a different adventure that she is totally unprepared for, one she had been unknowingly destined to take.

It’s hard to believe that this is the author’s first book. She captured the spirit of each character so well, that you would think came from years of writings. I loved the storyline, the strength of the characters, and the slow development of true love. This is a series and an author worth reading.

IN Pursuit Tour and Giveaway

NEW RELEASE....

The hunt is on…but who’s the one being pursued?

A serial killer is terrorizing San Antonio, and the method of murder is beyond macabre. As Ivy Nash is pulled into the case by her police detective friend, Stan, there appears to be one intersecting point between the victims—Ivy herself.

Meanwhile, Ivy and her new organization, ECHO, take on a case for a run-away teen whose parents have disappeared. Was it self-imposed, or is something more nefarious going on?

Moving at a break-neck pace, the parallel trails to stop the killer and to find the missing parents seem both murky and crystal clear. But just as Ivy believes the end is near, past transgressions are slammed in her face—and nothing will be the same.

A man wants retribution. And he’ll even saw off his own leg if it means Ivy will suffer.

"I love the way that Mefford writes, seamlessly jumping between characters and time frames with no confusion, and he is extremely descriptive of the setting . You almost feel like you are watching a movie instead of reading a book!" -- Hilary Mahoney, Elusive Red Tiger

Q&A with author John W. Mefford:
Q: What do the Ivy Nash Thrillers have to do with the Redemption Thriller Series?

JWM: The Ivy Nash Thrillers comprise the second sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series. The Alex Troutt Thrillers are the first sub-series. While I'll eventually write a series that connects the major characters and plots from all the sub-series, you don't have to read the AT books prior to the IN books. But I have to say, the AT thrillers are darn good.

Q: So you're saying you don't have to read the Alex Troutt Thrillers before the Ivy Nash Thrillers?

JWM: Nope. While a few of the characters might occasionally overlap between the series, they can be read as stand-alone. And then I'll wrap everything up in a final set of six novels that connects all of the main characters and stories from each sub-series. If you haven't read any of the Alex Troutt thrillers yet, you can try out the first three at a pretty nice discount. Just search for Alex Troutt Box Set.

Q: Can you give some insight into how Ivy Nash might connect to Alex Troutt down the line?

JWM: Sure…and then I'll send over a hit squad. Seriously, I'll be sprinkling in a few clues along the way for those who pay close attention to the details, but it will all come together in that final six novels of the Redemption Thriller Series. And it will be explosive and gut-wrenching at the same time.

Q: How many different sub-series are you planning to have in the Redemption Thriller Series?

JWM: Right now, I see four sub-series in the Redemption Thriller Series, with six novels in each. It's the most challenging and fulfilling creative endeavor I've undertaken. I hope you enjoy the journey.

MY REVIEW

There’s a serial killer on the loose in San Antonio. Each of his victims are linked to Ivy Nash. But Ivy won’t let her life be ruled by fear, even though she’s sure that the killer is the same twisted maniac who recently kidnapped her, tortured her, then let her go. As she works on a missing person’s case, Ivy can’t help but wonder if the killer is someone from her broken childhood. As she gets closer to figuring out his identity, Ivy discovers just how close she is to becoming the next victim on the killer’s list.

The character of Ivy Nash is braver than I will ever be. This was a non-stop edge-of-my-seat read. It’s so easy to devour a John Mefford writing, no matter how long it is. He creates such interesting characters. As always, he is detail-oriented in his plot locations. I like that even though I have never been to these places, his descriptions easily put me there, in the midst of it all. Subtle links to his past series’ were recognized. I feel that there will be more connections in the next chapter of this series and can’t wait to read more.

Onyx Webb: Book Six Review

Onyx Webb: Book Six: Episodes 16, 17 & 18

By Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz

Haven't Gotten Entangled Yet? Please Start with Book One.
More questions get answered in Book Six and NEW characters are introduced, several others return.
Onyx Webb is a complex multi-genre mash-up that combines elements of supernatural suspense, crime, horror, romance, and more. The Onyx Webb series follows the unusual life of Onyx Webb along with a central group of characters in various locations and times.
The billionaire Mulvaney family, piano prodigy Juniper Cole and her brother Quinn, paranormal show hosts Cryer and Fudge, and a few others make up the core of the series. Written like a book version of your favorite tv series (think: supernatural soap opera like American Horror Story) each character’s story moves forward with most every episode. It may appear that the characters are entirely unrelated and yet episode by episode, the connections will become clearer. Like being an inch away from a spider web, with each book, the web will move further and further away revealing the full story of every character and most importantly, the stunning conclusion for Onyx Webb herself.

In Book Six:

  1. The serial killer has taken his ultimate prize.
  2. In 2010, Koda attempts to find the girl in the mirror by crossing over to the other side.
  3. Onyx Webb finally has a new person in her life but like most things, it does not last.

MY REVIEW

A new character is introduced in book six. His quirky, oddball behavior fits in perfectly with the rest of the characters. I like that the authors researched a documented case on his type of ailment, and included it in the dedication. This helped to validate the unusualness of his condition.

As the timelines are brought closer to the present, and more connections click, I can’t help but feel sorry for the characters, for the things they have gone through, and how unfair life has been for them. As usual, there are secrets, betrayals, and ghostly encounters. Add to that, unique and unusual characters, then throw in a few plot twists and you have a story that continues to be no less than awesome.
