Bloomin' Daylily

Hello all.  I wanted to show you what I found in my flower garden today.

Isn't it just gorgeous!  I wasn't expecting to see color this year.  So far everything has green leaves but no blooms.  I just assumed that it was because of all the transplanting I did (and am doing) this year.  I really don't have a green thumb and am not very experienced in growing things.  In fact, I usually kill everything that grows inside.  But hey, they like me!!  As you can see, so do the weeds.  :)

I had been asked where I had found to put Fannie Frog.  Now you can see where she ended up.  I tried to get a picture of her near the bloom.  Actually, you can see better pics of her here and here.  I think the yellow and green compliment each other, don't you?

At least now when I get to work on all those weeds out there, I'll have purty thangs to look at.

Til next time, have fun!

Flower Pot Bird Feeder

I have a flower garden that is a work in progress.

You may recognize my painted stepping stones.  I have them meandering through the garden.  Also, notice the light bulb ladybug nestled beneath the flamingo.  The various stakes were Mother's Day gifts.  Since all my plants were transplanted this year, I guess they are not going to bloom.  So, for more color, I decided to make use of the plastic disposable pots that the plants came in.

I started with 4 pots and wired them together.  I then painted them and wired a platter on top.  This is what I  came up with.

Yea, I know the pictures aren't great.  My camera broke and I had to use my phone.  (Note to self: Get the camera fixed!!!).

Just ignore the totes and buckets in the background.  Where I live, either it storms or no rain at all.  I have to catch all I can.  The flowers and grass (what little I have) seem to thrive on the rainwater more than hose water.

I just wanted you to see what can be done with disposable materials.  It really does look good in the garden with that pop of purple and orange.  This has been a lot of work but next spring will show the rewards.  I can't wait to see it!

Til next time, have fun!

Fannie Frog

Hello friends.  Just wanted to show you my new friend.

I've named her Fannie.  Fannie Frog.  I think it fits!  She's such a happy little thing, isn't she.

I just took a store-bought 12 x 12 stepping stone and primed it with a dark green so that it will blend in with the grass, assuming I can get some to grow.  That's why all my pictures are taken in gravel, so you can't see my beautiful dirt yard!

Anyway, after priming the stone, I researched alot (and I mean alot) of pictures of frogs but none seemed to pop for me.  So out came the stack of newspapers and markers.  I drew and drew and the poor little thing kept getting fatter and fatter (I know that feeling) until I was satisfied with my drawing.  I then traced it onto the stone, painted, and spray sealed.

Now to find a spot in the yard for her.  Until next time, have fun!

Butterfly Stepping Stones

Happy April to everyone!  I'm on a butterfly kick this week.  I have a variety of purties for you to enjoy.
    Blue and yellow.  Classic.

Gotta love the lime and yellows together.

Brown and gold.  I don't really like this one much, but dh loves it.

I like the coral color of this one.  He sorta looks like a moth.

Yellow, black and red.  What a combination!  Works tho.

I think this is my favorite.  I love the vibrant pink and purple together.

I hope you enjoyed my purties.  I enjoyed making them.

Til next time, have fun!

Ladybug Stepping Stones

Hello there my friends!  Sorry you haven't heard from me for a week.  I've been very busy.  Last week, I participated in the 100 Comments On My Blog Event that Tanya at Blogelina hosted. Talk about work...whew, it was grueling!  To get 100 comments on my post, I had to comment on 100 other posts.  In reality, it was 136.  Luckily we had 8 days to do it in.

All in all, I think everyone did their best.  Some posts were extra work to get a comment on it, and some were quick and simple.  Mine would have been the latter except for the fact that I accidentally gave a broken url.  Even so, I did manage to get 42 comments of which I am very happy to get.  Oh, and did I mention that I replied back on each of those!

First, I want to thank Tanya for hosting the event.  Second, I want to say that as much work as it was, it was still awesome!  I enjoyed reading the variety of posts that participated. I gained 4 followers and show tremendous traffic flow to my blog.  What more could I ask!

So, here is this week's "purties", ladybugs on stepping stones.

Aren't they darling?  They look like they're having happy thoughts. Now, how about that for personality!

Til next time, have fun!

Lotus Flower

Hello Friends.  So glad you stopped by.  Can you believe the way the gas prices are going up?  They're reporting that parts of Florida are paying $6.00 a gallon.  Outrageous!  I know I'm not paying as much as some folks are, but that doesn't mean it isn't hurting me just as much.  It's ridiculous.  And as bad as I feel I am economically, I know there are plenty of others in worse shape than me.  Those are the ones I feel for because I know they're really hurting.  Hopefully this won't last too long and we'll be back down to a reasonable price soon.  There's always hope.  Right?

Well, now that I've vented, here's this week's creation.

Ain't it purty (hence the blog title)!  I thought it turned out so good that I tried it in another color.

I think I like this one better.  What about you?  Which one do you prefer, pink or yellow?

I plan on making some tutorals sometime in the near future, but right now I'm concentrating on getting a variety of  products made to sell on Etsy.  Do you think my painting is of selling quality?  Please let me know what you think.  Also I would love for you to follow my blog.  And if you have a blog, let me know so I can return the favor.

I also want to send a thank you to Tanya at Blogelina for all her help.  She has so many resources for us newbie bloggers with tips, articles, classes, you name it.  If you're considering your own blog, take my advice and visit her at  http://blogelina.com/ .

Til next time, have fun!
