***MY HONEST REVIEW OF FAMILY SECRETS***

When Alexis turned 40, she had her first mammogram done. Unfortunately, it showed cancer. She and her son Colton were hardly on speaking terms. Having always put her job before her family, he blamed her for his father’s fairly recent suicide. As she works to repair their relationship, while dealing with her spreading cancer, she is unaware that Colton is secretly investigating his father’s death. But the secret he uncovers will change his memories of his father forever.

I felt the loneliness and sadness that Alexis carried with her. This story gave me many emotions, as I felt close to Alexis. The more the plot unveiled, the more I was intrigued. I would call this a bit of a love story with a mystery backdrop. I could relate to friendship and family being put aside unintentionally, and I loved how this family worked through that.

Donna M. Zadunajsky was born and raised in Bristolville, Ohio, and resides in Homer Glen, Illinois. She spends her time writing short stories as well as novels.
