His Secret Life Tour and Giveaway

Gay men don’t fall in love with women. Do they?

Philip is a gay man working for a conservative corporation. After his recent promotion, he needs a date for a company function and asks his sister’s new roommate, Emily.

Emily is an actress, waiting tables while starring in local plays and hoping for her big break. She agrees to be Philip’s date for the party, and soon they are attending one event after another together.

Philip and Emily click on many levels. Lines blur as the people they pretend to be start feeling like the people they are, causing a rift with Philip’s boyfriend Jason.

When Philip no longer works for the company, he doesn’t need Emily to play the role of his girlfriend anymore, but to his surprise, he can’t let her go.

MY REVIEW OF His Secret Life

While working for a prestigious investment firm, Philip kept his homosexuality a secret. But each time the firm had a social function, he had to bring a “pretend” girlfriend. His sister tries to help out by suggesting Emily, her new actress roommate. When Philip and Emily meet, they click on all levels. As Emily falls in love with Philip, he suppresses his physical attraction to her. But what if she is his true soulmate? Philip must choose the right path to his future, but will the other path forever haunt him?

The plot was intriguing. I liked Philip and Emily right from the start. It seemed they were destined to be together no matter what. Workplace prejudice is a real thing, especially in cut-throat, higher positions, making this a believable premise. I felt the story was well-written, and enjoyed being able to view the turmoil from both sides of the table. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next chapter for Philip and Emily.
