MY REVIEW
Two years ago
Richard Cain was in a shootout with a group of Russian criminals. His partner
Judith Granger was killed in the shootout. Cain barely survived and was left
with two years of physical therapy and a bum leg. Out of the blue, Cain gets a
request from Judith’s dad to come back to Houston and hear him out, but about
what, Cain doesn’t know. Then before he even leaves, Cain is attacked by a guy
that he had sent to prison years ago. Coincidence? Cain doesn’t believe in
coincidence. Someone doesn’t want him to return to Houston. But Cain had left
Houston with a lot of unanswered questions. That didn’t bother him so much
then, but now he’s ready to find the answers.
I liked Cain
from the start. His character had a strength that was enough to carry anything
that could happen to him. I especially liked Katy. The chemistry between them
was unmistakable. It would have been nice to have Judith alive through more of
the story. Even so, I felt the bond of her and Cain easily. All the friends
from Cain’s past was an interesting part of the story. Even with the darkness
uncovered in the investigation this story had a positive vibe to it.
