MY REVIEW

Being born with cerebral palsy, Bella Tallahan has always lived vicariously through her twin sister Tally. After Tally marries Lucky Lenigan, Bella moves into the in-law cottage behind their home. Her family is too overprotective and Bella is ready to live on her own. The cottage came with a cranky, mean-spirited, tabby cat named Mr. Klutz that Bella adopted but can’t keep out of trouble. Lucky’s brother Chance, who lives next door in the carriage house, can’t keep Mr. Klutz from ruining his antique restorations, causing strife between him and Bella, but also inadvertently bringing them together.

I liked how strong and fearless Bella was. Well, almost fearless. It was a bit funny following all the antics of Mr. Klutz, although Chance didn’t think so. And it was heartbreaking, reading how a mother can cause a child so much emotional pain. It’s hard to fathom. I’m just glad there was the merriment of Christmas to balance everything out and with a little magic, bring it all together. I love all the stories that this author comes up with involving animals.
