MY REVIEW
Megan had found
a litter of newborn kittens and took on the responsibility of raising them. In
the meantime, she and her friend Jill started a pet sitting job for their
neighbor. The earned money has helped Megan to care for her kittens. When the
neighbor’s dog Max gets hurt while they are taking care of him, Megan takes him
to the local pet clinic. While there, Megan befriends a monkey named Monty, who
temporarily lives there and terrorizes the staff. When Dr. Newton sees how
Megan is around the animals, he proposes that she pet sit for him. Megan enjoys
being around the animals so much that she seriously starts thinking about a
career in veterinary medicine.
I really liked
this read. It was a feel good, upbeat story. The characters were respectful and
.the animals adorable. I did recognized the underlying learning curve for kids.
It never gave Megan’s exact age and I didn’t understand that, since I couldn’t
tell if she was preteen or midteen. I liked how the story included how Megan
approached the animals and treated them with respect and patience. This made
for an interesting lesson for all youngsters to learn from and I believe they
would enjoy reading it.
