***MY HONEST REVIEW OF MAGICAL MISSIONS***
A month before Alyssa turns 13, she discovers that an evil
wizard intends to kill her to further his cause. This begins a journey into a
scary, magical world she never knew existed, making new friends along the way.
This should be read by 13 year-old and under. I don’t think
anyone older would enjoy it much. It was just an OK read to me. I felt like the
magic in each situation was made up as the author was writing, and not thought
out ahead of time. Also, how come no matter what the magic was, there was no
way to undo it? The magic always seemed limited way too much in counteracting.
Information was sporadic at times. There was too much
explaining the electronics in the magic world, but not enough in how things got
explained to parents and police. There was no explanation as to why Alyssa or
her parents were chosen by the wizard. There were just too many gaps in the
information. I feel like to make the story believable; these things should have
been addressed.
