Dragon Wife Book Review

Dragon Wife (Dragon Clan)

By Diana Green

The clan is waking. After centuries of spellbound sleep, dragon-shifters are returning to the mountains. They are few in number, and the outside world has become overrun with humans.

Huroth, the dragon chieftain, recognizes a need for his kind to adapt, by forming alliances and mate-bonds with humans, but his clan is divided. From the first time she meets him, Lady Orwenna is drawn to the magnificent chieftain. The mind link he forms with her is both fascinating and frightening, as is the powerful attraction she feels for him. If only she knew what was in his heart.

Does he want her for the woman she is, or for her magical abilities? When war breaks out between kingdoms and ancient enemies of the dragons resurface, the clan will be tested. In the midst of uncertainty, can Huroth and Orwenna find their way together?

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF DRAGON WIFE***

Orwenna dreamed of experiencing romance, adventure and mystery in her future. Reality crushed those dreams when her father betrothed her to Rollin, a boring, uncaring man who worked with her father. She knew she had to do something drastic to avoid this turn of events. That opportunity came when she overheard the King telling her uncle about an imminent attack that would need the help of the Dragon people. Several years before, an alliance had been made with Huroth, chieftain of the dragons. Orwenna decides to secretly follow the group delivering the message to Huroth. Along the way, the group is killed and it is left to Orwenna to get the message through in time to save the town.

I liked the spunk that Orweena had. I could feel the disappointment she felt with her father and Rollin.  And I also felt how strong the feelings she and Huroth had for each other. If the author carries this story further, I would like to know how her father and Rollin reacted to Orweena’s decision to run. Also, it needs more volume added to her magical abilities and background. I don’t think enough of that was revealed.
