Along the way she meets Kurt Dupond, the Homicide Investigator tasked with finding the "Artist". When sparks start to fly between Cassie and Dupond, she must cast off the pain of the past while dealing with the pain, and promise, of the present.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF ARTIST***
Cassie Reynold is an unknown government assassin trainee.
Needing the experience of a working police department, she is able to work with
and learn from the best homicide detective in New Orleans, Kurt Dupond. And
with a serial killer on the loose in the Crescent City, there is much to learn.
But exactly who is doing the learning, Cassie or Kurt?
I liked Cassie’s personality, and the chemistry she and Kurt
had. Although I was expecting her to do a bit of psychic work, it never came.
That was disappointing for me. That was my reason for reading the book. This is the third in a series, but the first
that I have read. I did enjoy it enough though, to go back and read the first
two. I was impressed when I caught the author’s name as one of the street
names. How clever. I especially liked when the author gave mention of some
Mississippi towns that I am personally familiar with.
