Searchers of Ex-O-dá
By David D. Tracey
A group of aliens sent to Earth from their home world of Exoda are tasked with an assessment operation: determine if the Earth should be harvested (As in Annihilated, Destroyed to its core where only the most versatile insects can survey.) by the fleet behind them, or let the planet pass.
Perhaps this is the strongest piece of S. O. E. or Searchers of Ex-O-dá: its ability to imbibe even the most serious of plots with a zany sense of whimsy and humor that adds an element of unpredictability to the entire story line. Whether it's science fiction or fiction, real unpredictability and humor is surprisingly rare and a refreshing find.
In the end the fates of human and alien worlds will become entwined in more ways than one. Without spilling beans, it should be noted that readers looking for a voice that's truly different will find it in only a few places: in Christopher Moore's successful tales and, now, in David D. Tracey's fast-paced story of Searchers who uncover more than they bargained for.

***MY HONEST REVIEW OF EX-O-DA***
Royal is a Searcher, someone who visits other planets for
the purpose of deciding if they should be saved or destroyed. His latest
mission is to the planet Earth. This should be a fairly easy task, but there
are forces working, intent on destroying him and claiming the outcome in their
own favor. They will soon find out though, that Royal is a force to be
contended with.
This had a strong plot of characters throughout the story.
The humor is interspersed with wickedness keeping the story at a balance. I
really liked the character of Royal, and how he reacted to each of his
circumstances. Although this was science fiction, I appreciated how actual
history unknowns are given unusual explanations. This made the reading
entertaining.
