A Flair for Drama Tour and Giveaway

NEW RELEASE....

When a former schoolmate invites flamboyant senior sleuth Sadie Kramer to a theatre production, she jumps at the excuse to visit the Monterey Bay area for a weekend. With quaint Carmel shops a short drive away and luxurious linens in her hotel accommodations, the excursion promises to be both entertaining and relaxing.

Plenty of action is expected on stage, but when the show's leading lady turns up dead, Sadie finds herself faced with more than one drama to follow. With both cast members and production crew as potential suspects, will Sadie and her sidekick Yorkie, Coco, be able to solve the case?

"Deborah Garner is gifted at bringing each character to life. She adds details seamlessly, making it seem like you know these people. She presents scenarios that have you thinking you know who did it, and then in the next sentence you are second guessing yourself. And that is to say, this is a great “who done it” … it gets 2 thumbs up from me :)" - reviews Tracy Helps You

"I love the way Deborah Garner describes everything in this book, and I can't wait to read more in this series! This book literally kept me guessing until the very end." - reviews Sanity is for those without children

"Deborah Garner has created a unique and very flamboyant main character who seems to find trouble all by herself and turns into an amateur sleuth!" - reviews Miki's Hope

A Flair for Chardonnay (A Sadie Kramer Flair Mystery Book 1)

When flamboyant senior sleuth Sadie Kramer learns the owner of Cioccolato, her favorite chocolate shop, is in trouble, she heads for the California wine country with a tote-bagged Yorkie and a slew of questions. The fourth generation Tremiato Winery promises answers, but not before a dead body turns up at the vintners’ scheduled Harvest Festival.

All four Tremiato siblings have possible motives, as well as a few peripheral acquaintances, but only one could be the guilty party. As Sadie juggles truffles, tips and turmoil, she’ll need to sort the grapes from the wrath in order to find the identity of the killer.

MY REVIEW

Sadie’s friend Roxie invited her to The Seaside Players Theatre to attend the latest performance. Sadie arrived a day early so she could also attend the rehearsal. Of course her little Yorkshire terrier Coco came along with her, even if he is hidden in a tote bag most of the time. The rehearsal goes off without a hitch and Sadie even gets to meet the cast and crew. Later that night a lead actor is murdered. The cast is shaken, but as always, the show must go on. And Sadie, with her sleuthing, is now in her element. If anyone can solve this murder, it will be Sadie, with a little help from her sidekick Coco.

Sadie is a trip! It’s hard to picture her with her flamboyant style, especially at her age. But, that’s what makes her so fascinating. Coco also has a style all her own. I could easily picture her in a Broadway show. These two always get into situations without even trying. It will be interesting seeing what they get into next.

Tides Book Tour and Giveaway

NEW RELEASE...
It’s Leif’s eighth summer going viking with his father on their ship the Kraken—and he’s had enough. For as long as Leif can remember, his father has claimed to be a descendant of Ægir, god of the sea, and has exploited their shape changing ability—all this to amass enough gold to gain entrance into the ocean god’s halls. Leif hopes that time’s drawing near so he can free himself from Ragna’s domineering shadow.

On the green hills of Éire, Eilish is content learning traditional folk cures from her father until a Finn-Gall raid disturbs the peace. Desperate to protect Eilish from harm, her father cuts her hair and disguises her in his old clothing before she’s ripped from the only home she’s ever known. Sold as a thrall in Duiblinn, she must hide out as a young man on a ship full of barbarians.

Now Eilish, who fears she’ll become Ægir’s next sacrifice, and Leif, who isn’t prepared to stand up against his father’s powerful wrath, must face the tides of change—no matter how ominous they may seem.

Scars (Time of Myths: Shapeshifter Sagas Book 1)
Along the breathtaking and unforgiving coast of Snæland, Ásta’s ancestral farm is plagued with bad luck. The kinless maiden’s turf walls continue to be found damaged, and there aren’t enough farmhands to maintain the property. Claw marks in the dirt revive old memories of the wolf attack that left her scarred, and she begins to fear the whispers are true—that Fenrir, son of Loki and king of the wolves, has come to claim her and her land.

Torin often leaves his uncle’s farm in the southern hills to track and ensnare valuable gyrfalcons. His secret ability to turn into the birds he trains means his falconry skills are unparalleled, earning him precious silver and gold. If the ghosts of his past didn’t haunt him daily, pushing him to numb his senses with drink, Torin might have married by now—as his uncle often reminds him. He knows the time has finally come to find a wife and settle down.

During the Althing, the gathering of the year, Ásta’s ability to maintain her property comes into question while Torin wonders if a woman in jeopardy of losing her farm is really worth the trouble.

MY REVIEW

Eilish’s simple way of life ended when the Finn-Gall plundered her village and took her captive. Thank goodness her quick thinking father disguised her as a boy before she was taken away and sold as a deckhand slave on a Viking ship. The captain was a merciless man, but his son Leif kept an eye out for Eilish, now known as Aiden. How long can Eilish keep her secret from those that would hurt, and even kill her?

I was riveted throughout this story, wondering myself, how Eilish could keep up the ruse of being a young boy in the middle of ruthless warriors. You can’t help but feel sorry for the situation of not only her, but also of the fate of her fellow thralls. This was a well thought out plot, and each of the characters were either loved or hated. I like this author’s style of writing, and I’m really enjoying this series.

More of my Natasha Brown book reviews:

About the author
Natasha was born in Nevada City, California. Being an only child, she resorted to using her imagination while exploring the forest surrounding her home (a nasty habit she hasn’t been able to break). Her natural interest in fantasy ignited when her parents read The Hobbit to her as a youth, and from then on anything seemed possible. Once awarded with a Hershey’s bar ‘the size of a Buick’ in her high school English class for creative writing, her passion and interest in literature has never dimmed.

She now lives in Littleton, Colorado, with her husband, two children, and two dogs.

Onyx Webb Book Nine Review

Onyx Webb: Book Nine: Episodes 25, 26, 27 & 28

By Richard Fenton & Andra Waltz

Onyx Webb: Book Nine: Episodes 25, 26, 27 & 28 by [Fenton, Richard, Waltz, Andrea]
Welcome Back to the World of Onyx Webb! This is Book Nine. (Episodes 25, 26, 27, & 28)
Haven't Gotten Entangled Yet? Please Start with Book One.
Book Nine is the most cataclysmic book in the series yet and what we have been building to for so long. The web is almost entirely formed now. But questions remain: what happens to everyone now that it is?
Onyx Webb is a complex multi-genre mash-up that combines elements of supernatural suspense, crime, horror, romance, and more. The Onyx Webb series follows the unusual life of Onyx Webb along with a central group of characters in various locations and times.

In Book Nine:

  1. The Mulvaney's host the Solstice Eclipse Ball for the Restoring Savannah Foundation and Gerylyn's prediction comes to pass.
  2. Stan Lee gets his revenge and Juniper battles a dark evil at the mansion.
  3. Onyx Webb spends her days at the lighthouse alone again without Noah Ashley but Noah may have other plans.

...........................................................................
MY REVIEW

Well, the time has come for the Solstice Eclipse event, when a tear in the lining between the living and the dead occurs and allows the dead to enter the realm of the living. And what better time than during the Restoring Savannah Foundation Masquerade Ball at the Mulvaney mansion. All the main characters were there, except for Onyx Webb, who’s still in Crimson Cove, and of course Wyatt Scrogger who is in his final hours on death row. Those in the know could feel that something was going to happen, it was inevitable. The tension in the air was palpable. Then as the predicted events start unfolding, it was like watching an explosion and not being able to do a thing about it.

I knew this one was going to be a shocker and it didn’t disappoint me. But I didn’t expect to enjoy the chaos as much as I did. Of course, not everything is positive, but it definitely is satisfying. Olympia Fudge is a hoot, and was certainly the life of the party. Stan Lee is still the menace he always was. Does he get caught? How many will survive the ball? Will Wyatt get pardoned? And what is next for Onyx? My lips are sealed!

The Eye of Horlune Review

Eye of Horlune (Holly Willow #1)

By Raven Snow

Eye of Horlune (Holly Willow #1)
Holly wanted to stay here with him, if not forever then at least for tonight but her quota of luck had just run out.

Meet Holly Willow - a nineteen year old witch who packs a punch. Join her, her dysfunctional group of friends that joins her team and her mission to defeat the evil megacorporation, Valor Incorporated, and stop their leader from obtaining a magical artifact that could give him the power to control or destroy the world.

With some magic, a little corporate espionage, and a whole heap of luck, Holly and her friends will fight for family, love, and the fate of the world...

Novella (approx. 20,000 words). Romance is CLEAN. Raven Snow is known for her Cozy Mysteries. This is an early work, be warned there is some violence, does not have a the "small town" feel of a typical cozy mystery. It is a standalone (reading further volumes not required to enjoy the book).

...........................................................................
MY REVIEW

Holly and her friend Megan are doing everything they can to expose the megacorporation Valor Incorporated. On the surface, Valor is an upstanding business, with dealings in various sectors boosting the economy. But Holly knows that Valor is hiding its true intentions, and she won’t stop until it’s revealed.

I love reading stories that have more than one group of characters. This one had witches, djinns, and oracles, all working together to create an interesting plot. Even though it was a short read, there was enough personality for each character to stand on their own. This was an interesting read that kept me entertained.
